The water temperature at The Great Barrier Reef is approximately 23℃ in the winter, and 29℃ in the summer, which is very warm and great to dive in.

The visibility is always best from September to November, so it would probably be best to go during that time period if you like diving with great visibility. The further out you go, the better the visibility gets, of 18-46 meters. But when you’re more shallow, the visibility level drops surprisingly to 15-25 meters, but the lowest level of visibility is generally the same so if you’re going in a low-visibility area and you’re new to diving, you can go in the shallow dive sites and it won’t make much of a difference.
